A tour bus carrying 11 passengers from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur overturned on Malaysia’s North-South Expressway on Wednesday (26 Aug), leaving three people injured, including a 62-year-old Singaporean woman.
The accident happened at around 5am at KM177.6 of the northbound expressway.

Based on preliminary investigations, a lorry travelling ahead of the bus had slowed down shortly before the accident.
Jasin District police chief Superintendent Lee Robert said the bus driver tried to avoid colliding with the lorry, but the bus veered off the left side of the road and overturned.

Three passengers suffered head or leg injuries and were taken to Jasin Hospital for treatment.
Bernama identified them as a 62-year-old Singaporean woman, a 42-year-old British woman, and a 59-year-old Malaysian man who was a tour guide.
The bus driver and the remaining passengers were not injured.

According to China Press, police said the road was straight and dry at the time of the accident, while weather conditions were good.
Police had also yet to locate any members of the public who witnessed the accident or obtain CCTV or dashcam footage.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of Malaysia’s Road Transport Act 1987.
The accident also drew attention after Singaporean actor Aaron Aziz shared on social media that his cousin had been on the bus.
He said the bus had been involved in an accident and overturned, leaving several passengers injured, and appealed to people near the scene for assistance.

A video shared by Aaron showed passengers inside the overturned bus before they made their way out through a hatch in the roof.
