On Tuesday (25 Aug), a Toyota van collided with a car on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) while attempting to change lanes.
Dashcam footage from the vehicle that was rear-ended captured the incident, which occurred around 7.47am.

For most of the video, the van is cruising while maintaining a safe distance between the vehicles.
As the camcar comes to a gradual stop, the white van follows suit.

However, the van driver signals to change lanes and speeds up while doing so.
This resulted in the van rear-ending the camcar instead.

A large dent was visible on the van’s hood, while shards of glass and debris were littered across the road.
But the van driver appears conscious and safe.

The camcar driver wrote in the caption: “What a bad day. Don’t understand why nowadays commercial vehicles go every lane they want.”
Traffic police really need [to] work something out.
