On 31 Oct, his aunt started a fundraising campaign for the young boy.
Over the weekend, members of the public came together and donated over S$400,000, hoping to aid the young boy in this sudden loss.
The campaign was set up on the online fundraising platform Give.Asia by the cousin of the male victim, whom she regarded as her “little brother”.
She mentioned that the couple had plans to apply for a BTO flat, and were “looking forward to the next chapter of their lives”.
Unfortunately, on 29 Oct, the couple lost their lives in a fatal hit-and-run accident along Tampines Avenue 12.
The woman was also one month pregnant at the time.

She started the campaign due to the overwhelming response of the public expressing their condolences, with many asking how they can help the victim’s son.
“As someone who watched him grow up, this loss is incredibly difficult to accept,” the cousin wrote.
She added that life was “not always easy” for her cousin, noting that he too had lost his parents young.
It is heartbreaking to know that his son will now have to grow up without his mummy and daddy, just as his father had experienced the loss of a parent at such a young age.
The campaign has raised over S$430,000 over the weekend, with netizens pouring in tons of love and support.
The victim’s cousin stated that “all funds raised through this campaign will be dedicated solely” to the young boy.

The intention is to provide him with financial support and security as he grows up.
This includes daily living expenses, education, healthcare and well-being, as well as long-term financial security.
“This campaign is for everyone who has reached out, asked how they can help and wanted to do something for this little boy,” she wrote.
Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in his life. If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with others would mean just as much.
The victim’s cousin added that the family has come together to look after the boy.
He is currently under the care of his late mother’s family, while the family works towards settling his legal guardianship arrangements, she shared.
“No amount of money can replace the love of a mother and father,” the cousin wrote.
But we can come together to make sure that he has the support he needs and the opportunities he deserves as he grows up.
