Man assaulted by teenagers over his handsome appearance

A 31-year-old man in Buriram, Thailand, was allegedly harassed and assaulted by a group of male teenagers while dining at a restaurant.

The assault, which occurred on Friday (18 Sept), was recorded and shared on social media. It was also alleged that the group targeted men they perceived as more handsome than themselves.

Online footage revealed harassment

According to a video posted on a Thai Facebook page, a man in a black T-shirt approached the victim’s car and told him to roll the car window down.

In response, the victim asked why he should roll down the car window.

Shortly after, a shirtless man pulled up on a motorcycle next to his car.

Suddenly, the man in the black T-shirt swung a punch at the victim seated in the car before hopping onto his friend’s motorcycle.

Group allegedly forced him to join their table

According to Mr Bank, he had visited a restaurant with a friend when a group of seven to eight youths approached their table shortly after they arrived.

Mr Bank said one member of the group told him and his friend to move over and sit with them.

After joining the group, he claimed they began questioning him about where he was from and making comments about his appearance.

Feeling uncomfortable, Mr Bank asked to return to his original table after sitting with them for around two minutes.

After he moved back, he alleged that members of the group started throwing objects at him.

Mr Bank said he decided to leave and asked for the bill, but one of the group members allegedly warned him against leaving.

They allegedly chased his car and attacked him

Concerned for his safety, Mr Bank and his friend left the restaurant and drove away.

However, he said the group followed them on motorcycles and forced him to stop by blocking his vehicle.

“At first I did not want to stop, but they swerved in front of my car and blocked me,” he said.

Mr Bank alleged that the group then forced him to lower his window and punched him twice in the face before he drove away.

He said he left immediately because he feared the group might have weapons.
