The police are looking for a van driver who left the scene after getting into an accident Sengkang on Wednesday (30 Sept) night.
Footage posted by SG Road Vigilante on Facebook showed the van crashing into a traffic light pole, narrowly missing a pedestrian.

In the clip, which had a timestamp of 11.56pm on 30 Sept, the white van was seen turning right into Compassvale Street.

However, the driver overestimated the turn and crashed the van into a traffic light pole, knocking it askew.
This happened right next to a pedestrian with a suitcase waiting to cross the road, who moved away quickly to avoid getting hit.

The collision caused the traffic lights to snap off the pole and fall onto the road.

The momentary setback did not stop the van from continuing its journey, as it moved forward slightly, then reversed, to the amazement of those in the camcar.

The van proceeded to reverse all the way into the centre of the intersection, blocking the camcar and other vehicles.

It was observed to have sustained damage, especially to its front left side, where there was a large dent from the collision.

After a short pause, it then turned right again, correctly this time, and drove off as if nothing had happened.

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 11.50pm on 30 Sept.
It took place along Compassvale Street and Anchorvale Street, and involved a van.
The van driver had left the scene before the police arrived, and efforts to trace them are underway.
Police investigations are ongoing.
