Van rear-ends stationary car at open carpark in Tampines

A driver fled after she rear-ended her van into a parked car in an open parking lot at Blk 881 Tampines Street 84.

According to the owner of the struck vehicle, who posted on the Facebook page Complaint Singapore, the incident occurred at 7.03pm last Saturday (30 May).

However, instead of stopping to check on the struck vehicle, the driver continued to manoeuvre the van out of its parking space.

As this was happening, a dark SUV passed by.

The van eventually leaves the parking lot in an attempt to flee the scene.

Notably, the SUV reappeared on the OP’s dashcam footage as they rushed after the van.

“One kindhearted male chased after her and made her [return] to the accident scene,” the OP said.

SUV driver leaves note for owner of struck car

In a submission on the Facebook page SGRV Admin, the OP described what had happened after the accident.

“I wasn’t sure if the man had made her U-turn back to the accident scene, and it was the man who had placed a written paper on my front window screen,” the OP wrote.

Only when they noticed a piece of paper on their windscreen did the OP realise their car had been involved in an accident.

However, when they tried to contact the number on the note, no one answered.

The OP said the incident has wasted their time and effort, adding that the thought of filing a police report was a “mental drain”.

Regardless, he is still keen on finding out the identity of the good Samaritan in the SUV.

“I want to know who the kindhearted man is, who chased after her,” the OP wrote.
