Nine people were sent to the hospital on Wednesday (7 Oct) morning after an accident involving four vehicles along the Tampines Expressway (TPE).
Footage posted on Facebook showed a motorcycle on fire after the accident.

According to the clip, the burning motorcycle lay in the centre lane in front of a white lorry.

Farther ahead was a car in the far-right lane.
Debris was scattered across the road, with traffic forced to be diverted to the left lanes.

A photo posted by SG Road Vigilante on Facebook was apparently taken after the fire had been extinguished.

A fire engine and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel were at the scene.
In a post on X, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said at 6.59am on Wednesday that an accident had occurred along the TPE in the direction of the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), after the Punggol Road exit.
Motorists were advised to avoid lanes 1 and 2.

Less than an hour later, LTA updated that the accident had caused congestion that stretched to Sengkang West Road.

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 6.50am on 7 Oct.
It took place along the TPE towards the PIE, and involved a car, a lorry and two motorcycles.
SCDF, which was alerted at the same time, told MS News that a motorcycle had caught fire at the location.
Members of the public extinguished it using fire extinguishers before SCDF arrived.
Eventually, nine people were sent to the hospital in a conscious state:
SCDF said eight of them were conveyed to Sengkang General Hospital and one was conveyed to Changi General Hospital.
One more person suffered minor injuries, but declined to be sent to the hospital after being assessed.
Additionally, two people are assisting the police in their investigations.
They are the aforementioned 40-year-old lorry driver and a 55-year-old male car driver.
Police investigations are ongoing.
