Wet weather to continue in Nov with the onset of Northeast Monsoon
The recent wet weather is expected to continue for the rest of November as the rainy season truly kicks off, according to the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS).
This was revealed by the MSS in a weather advisory released on Friday (15 Nov).

Wet weather in the afternoon on most days for rest of Nov
Moderate to heavy thundery showers will fall over most parts of Singapore over the next two weeks, MSS said.
These will take place in the afternoon on most days.
However, on a few days, the rain may extend into the night.
This means the total rainfall for the second half of the month will be above average over most parts of the island.

Rainy weather comes as Northeast Monsoon sets in
The wet weather comes as the prevailing inter-monsoon conditions are expected to make way for Northeast Monsoon conditions.
While inter-monsoon conditions bring low-level winds that are mostly light and variable in direction, the winds will gradually strengthen and shift to blow from the northeast or northwest as the Northeast Monsoon sets in.
The Northeast Monsoon season typically lasts till March, according to MSS.
Temperature to range from 32-33°C on most days
Accordingly, daily maximum temperatures are expected to be cooler, ranging from 32°C to 33°C on most days.
On a few days, though, the temperature might still hit a high of 34°C.
Those who feel cold easily might want to note that a daily low of 23°C can be expected on some rainy days, MSS advised.
More wet weather recorded in first half of Nov
The first half of November was much wetter compared with the two weeks preceding it, with thundery showers falling over parts of the island in the late morning and afternoon on most days.
About half of the island — mainly the central and eastern areas — recorded above-average rainfall during the fortnight.
Ulu Pandan and the surrounding areas registered about 53% above-average rainfall, while Kent Ridge and its vicinity had about 58% below-average rainfall.

In particular, Singapore experienced intense thundery showers on 11 Nov, due to a regional convergence of winds.
That day, Pasir Ris recorded a total of 73.2mm of rainfall — the highest daily rainfall recorded for the period.
Paya Lebar recorded highest temperature of the fortnight again
As for the daily maximum temperatures, they were between 32°C and 34°C on most days.
Paya Lebar, again, recorded the highest daily maximum temperature of the fortnight, with the mercury recording 35.2°C on 1 Nov.
