PHV driver turns into kerb at Chai Chee Street after allegedly colliding into another car

On Sunday (6 Sept), a private hire vehicle (PHV) allegedly hit a car before driving into a kerb along Chai Chee Street at around 1.25pm.

The car also nearly bumped into a motorcycle and other cars while driving away in an alleged hit-and-run.

Driver turns into kerb, drives off in alleged hit-and-run

In a video posted by SG Road Vigilante on Facebook, a dashcam mounted on a nearby vehicle captured moments after the alleged collision.

At the T-junction of Chai Chee Street, the PHV driver makes a right turn.

However, it failed to complete the turn and ended up driving straight into a kerb.

It stops for a moment and readjusts to turn away from the kerb.

Nearly hits a motorcycle and camcar

A motorcycle moved to overtake the PHV from behind, entering its blind spot.

The PHV driver turned, nearly colliding into the bike.

Concurrently, the PHV driver crossed into the opposite lane, coming into close contact with the camcar.

Then, the PHV driver turned back into the correct lane before driving off.

Car was under a chauffeured private hire scheme

At the front, a driver from a nearby car exits their vehicle to record the PHV with his phone.

At the end of the video, the Original Poster (OP) shared a screenshot showing that the car was under a chauffeured private hire scheme.

The OP wrote in the caption: “Hope this can help the driver that got hit.”

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) stated that they were alerted to an accident involving three cars at the junction of Bedok North Road and Chai Chee Street at around 1.30pm.

They conveyed a 33-year-old male car driver to the hospital in a conscious state. He is assisting the police with investigations.

Police investigations are ongoing.
