The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed 106 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore today (7 Apr).

Of the 103 local cases, 39 trace back to various workers’ dormitories, 13 to other clusters, and 10 to previous cases. 41 others are still pending contact tracing.

Today’s numbers bring Singapore’s total to 1,481 so far.

Whether these measures will suffice takes time for us to know, but we hope so, as the workers’ welfare are important too.

3 healthcare workers test positive for Covid-19

The MOH press release also disclosed that 3 healthcare workers at different hospitals and clinics have tested positive for Covid-19.

A 22-year-old nurse at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) who noticed symptoms on 4 Apr and tested positive the next day is now in an isolation ward at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

A 61-year-old healthcare assistant at Hougang Polyclinic who observed symptoms on 1 Apr and tested positive on 6 Apr is receiving treatment at SGH.

Both did not report for work after showing symptoms.

A 35-year-old nurse at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), however, had worked for several hours on 5 Apr despite being symptomatic.

Her test results came back positive on 6 Apr, and she has been warded at the same hospital since.

33 more recovered fully, 29 in ICU

In more positive news, 33 patients have made complete recovery, bringing discharge cases to 377 today.

29 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).

As Singapore marks day 1 of our circuit breaker measures, we hope that all residents will comply with advisories for the sake of everyone’s safety.

Staying at home is all we have to do, so let’s do our best.
