A French tourist who accidentally left about 100,000 baht (around S$3,800) in cash at a Phuket hotel got it all back thanks to the staff’s honesty.
After returning to collect the substantial sum, he reportedly tipped them just 100 baht (S$3.80).
The incident took place at OASIS Phuket Airport, a four-star hotel in Southern Thailand.
A housekeeper initially encountered an envelope in a wardrobe.
Upon opening it, staff found stacks of Euro banknotes amounting to around S$3,800.

However, the guest had already left Phuket and travelled to Koh Samui.
The accommodation’s owner, Guy Petcharat, subsequently contacted him to let him know that his money had been found.
After learning about the forgotten cash, the tourist made his way back to Phuket to retrieve it.

The owner told local media that the tourist appeared relieved and happy when the money was returned.
Given the amount involved, he said the tourist would likely have been shocked had the cash actually gone missing.
After receiving the envelope, the tourist reportedly thanked the staff by leaving a S$3.80 tip.
The owner captured the moment the cash was returned via a Facebook post last Friday (2 Oct).
