He was offered bail of S$5,000, and his case is set to be mentioned again in court on 2 June.

In response to MS News’ queries, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said they received a call for assistance regarding the incident at about 2.15pm.

“Upon arrival, officers established that a 27-year-old male subject was assaulted by an 18-year-old male subject,” SPF said.

Yee sustained minor injuries, while the 18-year-old was arrested.

After the incident, Yee posted a photo online showing a bloodied lip.

Yee was not allowed to enter the venue

Before the convention, Yee had posted on X and Discord on Friday (8 May) that he planned to attend Doujin Market.

In response to attendees’ concerns, the organisers published a statement saying that they had cancelled the ticket of a “known problematic influencer” and were working to ban him from all their shows.

Despite this, Yee, who had previously been jailed in the United States (US) over child sex offences, still turned up at the venue and posted a picture on X captioned “Protect your kids”.

The Straits Times (ST) reported that in a later statement on Saturday, Doujima’s organisers said the altercation happened when Yee was no longer on convention grounds.

According to the organisers, Yee had approached staff at the entrance, where he was informed that he was banned, before leaving the convention area.

“We want to reiterate that we do not condone violence and our priority is the safety of our visitors and exhibitors,” the organisers said.

Yee deported to Singapore in March

Yee was deported to Singapore from the US on 19 March.

He was arrested by enlistment inspectors upon arrival at Changi Airport, and later charged under the Enlistment Act over alleged National Service-related offences.

His NS case is still pending, with a pre-trial conference scheduled for 22 May.
