Woman in Malaysia gets upset after being told not to eat home-cooked meals at McDonald’s
On Monday (14 Oct), a TikTok user took to social media to share her frustration after an encounter at a McDonald’s outlet in Malaysia, where she was asked not to consume her home-cooked meal on the restaurant premises.
The incident quickly gained traction, with Amora — known as @orang_kecil8 on TikTok — sharing her experience in a series of videos that have since garnered more than two million views.

Wanted her child to enjoy McDonald’s playground without purchasing a meal
Amora explained that she frequents the McDonald’s branch so her daughter can enjoy the indoor playground, especially as recent rain made outdoor playgrounds unsuitable.
Instead of purchasing a meal, she brought a home-cooked meal for her daughter.
“As a mother, I tell my child that she has to finish her rice before eating McDonald’s,” she shared in response to a comment.
However, this led the outlet’s manager to politely ask her to finish the meal elsewhere, suggesting a nearby ‘mamak’ shop with more lenient outside food policies.
This only frustrated Amora further, and she questioned in her caption: “If my child gets lost, will McDonald’s be responsible?”
Noting that the outlet was empty at the time, she added that it seemed like the manager was deliberating “targeting” her.
“Even if it was crowded, it is my right to stay at McDonald’s [for however long I want],” she stated.
Video sparks debate among netizens
The incident sparked a lively discussion on social media.
Many agreed with the manager’s stance, highlighting that it’s customary to buy a meal when using a restaurant’s facilities.
They pointed out it’s common sense, as most restaurants don’t allow outside food.
Some also disagreed with her sense of entitlement.
Others suggested that Amora could have had her child finish the meal at home instead.
However, there were some netizens who felt the manager was overly strict.
“What is the problem with this manager? What’s wrong with staying at the restaurant for a long period? You don’t even own the McDonald’s outlet,” one netizen remarked.
