Nee Soon resident finds Justin Bieber memes on announcement board
On Monday (4 Nov), netizens started circulating photos of two strange flyers placed on Nee Soon Town Council’s announcement board.
The two flyers displayed old Justin Bieber memes, leaving many netizens confused over why they were put up on the board in the first place.
Memes posted next to formal announcements
Both flyers were found next to common neighbourhood notices, including collection notices for recyclables and reminders to pet owners.
The first flyer read, “Don’t kill yourself, daddy will miss his little kitten,” and was put up next to a poster on recycling.
The second said, “God gives his toughest battles to his hottest soldiers” beside a notice for pet owners in the area.
Both printouts featured photos of a younger Justin Bieber forming a heart shape with his hands next to the text.
This meme style was popular in the internet’s early days when celebrities were sometimes photoshopped onto colourful backgrounds for a quick laugh.
It is unclear who placed the flyers on the announcement board and why they did so, but they were reportedly removed by the cleaners from the board later on.
Netizens expressed confusion
From the comments responding to the post on Reddit, many netizens were baffled by the presence of these old memes on the announcement board.
Some made references to being a “belieber”, a term used to describe the singer’s fans in the past.
However, others questioned the appropriateness of the texts on the meme in light of recent news about Justin Bieber and American rapper P Diddy.
P Diddy has been surrounded by a large number of sexual assault allegations since the end of 2023, and newly surfaced speculations have put Justin Bieber as a potential victim of the rapper.
MS News has reached out to Nee Soon Town Council but they declined to comment on the incident.
