Little Treasures Childcare Centre Woodlands Closes After 5-Year-Old Student Tests Positive For Covid-19

The Early Childhood Development Authority (ECDA) announced on Sunday (19 Apr) that Little Treasures Childcare Centre Woodlands branch would be closed until Monday (21 Apr).

This came after a 5-year-old student at the centre tested positive for Covid-19.

Woodlands Childcare Centre closes after student tests positive

According to EDCA,  the child was last at the centre on 7 Apr. On 13 Apr, the student’s family member tested positive for Covid-19 and the child was quarantined.

The childcare centre has taken into account the 14-day incubation period. Thus they will be closed for 2 days only.

All students and staff who are affected have also been issued a Leave of Absence from 20-21 Apr.

Operations resume on 22 Apr

According to ECDA, the centre will resume its limited operations on 22 Apr.

Their services, however, will only cater to children whose parents do not have alternative care arrangements in place for them.

Contact tracing is ongoing for those affected.

They will also be monitoring the wellness of their staff and students closely.

Prior to their student’s infection, the centre observed safety precautions like suspending large group activities and increasing temperature screenings.

Speedy recovery to the affected student

MS News wishes the affected student and the family member a speedy recovery.

We hope no other student or staff at the centre contracts the virus so they can continue looking after children with no alternative care once they reopen.
