Fan in Taiwan offers house in exchange for Jay Chou concert tickets
Jay Chou’s upcoming concert in Taipei made headlines earlier this month when all 150,000 tickets sold out within five minutes. Scalpers even resold tickets for up to S$12,000 per seat.
A fan from the city of Kaoshiung recently even offered their house, worth NT$15 million (S$619,000) in exchange for six tickets to Jay Chou concert.
Offered house in exchange for best seats
The exchange offer was posted on a Facebook page dedicated to obtaining tickets for Jay Chou’s concert.
The fan specifically requested six connected seats in the first row of either zone A3 or A4 — the two seating zones closest to the stage.
Tickets in these seating zones were originally sold for NT$6,880 (S$284) each.
One netizen expressed interest in buying the house directly, to which the fan responded with an NT$15 million (S$600,000) quote.
Defending against speculation and criticism
In response to comments questioning whether the trade is over the top, the fan said they can always find another house, but there might not be a next concert.
Another comment speculated the fan is going to realise the dreams of six people, including himself.
However, according to the fan’s reply, they are only going to the concert with one other person.
They are only looking for six tickets so that they can leave the other four seats empty and “stand out more”.
