Owner of Novena condo unit says renovation contractor has been uncontactable since September
The unfortunate owner of a condominium unit in Novena says the renovation of his home is still unfinished more than one year after he engaged a contractor.
Worse still, the contractor and his company have now become uncontactable since September, after he paid about S$152,000 in deposits.

Novena condo owner engaged renovation contractor he found online
The 46-year-old home owner, named only as Mr K, told Shin Min Daily News that he purchased the four-bedroom penthouse unit at the end of 2022.
The financial services executive had learnt about a company called Renosaves Project online and engaged them to install outdoor blinds in his home in May 2023.
When it did a good job, he decided to get them to renovate the entire unit.
The contractor appeared to be “very professional”, Mr K said – he said he was the owner of the company and also did a 3D mock-up of how his home would look like after the nenovation.
Owner quoted S$252K for renovation of Novena condo
The company quoted him a total of S$252,000 for the renovation, which included hacking, tiling, electrical and plumbing works, and installing a marble feature wall and chandelier.

Mr K paid S$152,000 in deposits between May 2023 and July 2024.
The contractor promised that the renovation works would be completed by September.
Unit still in a mess, owner forced to live with family
However, the more than 3,000 square foot unit is still in a mess, with building materials strewn across its rooms.
Wires were observed to be dangling from the walls, with the hacking leaving the floors uneven and holes in the ceiling.
As the balcony door was removed, water would enter the unit whenever it rained, Mr K said.
He’s now forced to live with his family even though he expected to move into his new home by the end of this year.
Contractor uncontactable since September
Mr K has tried to contact the contractor and his company but has been unsuccessful since September.
His two phone numbers have been cancelled and his whereabouts are unknown, the home owner said.
He has already made a police report and sought legal advice.
Workers & other home owners also affected
Mr K is not the only person affected.
A 26-year-old Bangladeshi employee of Renosaves Project said the company still owes him S$5,000 in salary in overtime pay.
His boss has been uncontactable since September and he hasn’t been able to enter the company office since then — meaning he can’t retrieve his belongings within.
Other home owners have also had issues with the company. The Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) told The Straits Times that three complaints had been filed against Renosaves Project between 1 Jan and 14 Nov.
