Dog in Thailand weeps at owner’s funeral before dying of grief
In a shocking yet touching moment, a loyal dog wept in distraught at her owner’s funeral before dying of grief beside her coffin.
According to Khaosod, Judo was a Thai ridgeback that became inconsolable when its 75-year-old owner was hospitalised.
Dog raised by owner ever since it was a pup
Speaking to reporters, the deceased’s daughter said her mum took Judo in ever since it was a puppy. Everywhere she went, Judo would be right beside her.
But earlier this week, her mum was hospitalised after her body began to fail.
Although Judo had always been a healthy dog, it suddenly became distraught as if sensing the end of its owner’s life.
Cried beside owner’s coffin
Judo began refusing to eat and eventually became inconsolable when its owner finally passed away on Tuesday (3 Dec).
As the family began funeral rites at home, Judo lay down beside the home entrance, near where its owner’s coffin was.
Neighbours who came to pay their respects noticed the poor canine. Some even wiped away its tears with tissues.
Not long after, Judo joined its owner in death.
The family decided to bury Judo in their backyard. As they were digging a grave for Judo, the family’s other dog circled Judo’s body as if confused by why its friend suddenly passed away.
The daughter was unsure why Judo had suddenly fallen ill.
“Perhaps mum wanted to take Judo along with her,” she said.
