French tourists in Vietnam return S$980 that delivery rider had forgotten at ATM
On Tuesday (15 Sept) evening, a delivery rider in Vietnam deposited VND20 million (about S$980) at the ATM.
The sum, which he had collected during the day, was meant to pay for goods for his company.
Unfortunately, Nguyen Ngoc Thinh forgot to confirm the transaction before leaving. This left the stack of cash he had placed in the ATM sitting there as he left.

Tracking down the lost money
The rider only realised his mistake after he arrived home. In a panic, he quickly rushed back to the ATM only to find the cash missing.
Mr Thinh was concerned that he had lost the cash permanently, as the amount was substantial for him.
In desperation, he reached out on social media seeking help to find his lost cash. He also contacted authorities, who helped him in the search.
When they reviewed security footage at the ATM, they discovered that a pair of French tourists had used the ATM after Mr Thinh.

Cash retrieved safely
Soon after, an employee from a local spa contacted Mr Thinh and got him in touch with the tour guide accompanying the tourists. By 10pm, the rider had met up with the tourists at their hotel.
The pair happily gave Mr Thinh his cash back, and shared that they were very confused about where the money from the ATM had come from.

Mr Thinh was grateful to the pair for returning the full amount. In photos circulating online, the rider could be seen with a huge grin on his face after retrieving his cash.
