67-year-old Singaporean woman dies after being resuscitated in hospital
A 67-year-old Singaporean woman who was on holiday in Taiwan has died, two days after she was hit by a bus while crossing the road.
Thus, the case may be investigated as a negligent homicide, reported Focus Taiwan.

Singaporean passes away from injuries in hospital
The China Medical University Hospital in Taichung, where the elderly woman was being treated, said in a statement on Friday (18 Sept) that she had passed away that morning due to the severity of her injuries.
This was despite its medical team making every effort to save her, including warding her in the Intensive Care Unit.

The hospital expressed deep regret over her death.
She was earlier reported to have suffered fractures in her arm, leg and pelvis. She also suffered out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), with no breathing or pulse detected when rescuers attended to her.
But her vital signs were subsequently restored while she was being transported to the hospital.
Woman hit by turning bus in Taiwan, trapped under wheel
The woman, who was visiting Taiwan with her family, was hit by the bus on Wednesday (16 Sept) while crossing a junction in Taichung’s West District.
The Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport bus, driven by a 45-year-old man surnamed Gong, was turning right onto Ziyou Road when it hit the woman.
United Daily News reported that surveillance footage from the junction captured the bus moving slowly as it turned.
However, the woman was struck and became trapped beneath its front-right wheel.

Firefighters had to use lifting equipment to raise part of the bus in order to free her.
Prosecutors may investigate case as negligent homicide
In light of the woman’s death, the police told Focus Taiwan that they will ask prosecutors to conduct an autopsy and investigate the case as a possible negligent homicide.
The bus driver, who tested negative for alcohol and drugs, had driven for five hours and four minutes that day after driving for four hours and 46 minutes the previous day, according to Highway Bureau records.
Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) told The Straits Times (ST) on Friday that Singapore’s Trade Office in Taipei is rendering consular assistance to the family of the deceased.
