Indian Actor Irrfan Khan Who Was Famous For Hollywood & Bollywood Roles Dies Of Cancer At 53
When the Bollywood movie Slumdog Millionaire made its debut in 2009, it instantaneously rose to international fame worldwide.
Many will recognise Mr Irrfan Khan from his role as the police inspector in the film, alongside other acclaimed works like Life Of Pi and Jurrasic World.
The 53-year old actor has reportedly passed away on Wednesday (29 Apr) in a Mumbai hospital due to cancer.
Mr Irrfan Khan battled with rare cancer
Since 2018, the beloved actor had been struggling with rare cancer, according to a report by Times of India.
Before he started treatment, Mr Khan starred in blockbusters like Life Of Pi and mystery thriller Inferno.
He was also famous in India for his Bollywood and musical career, garnering respect from professionals in the industry.
Hence, when he was diagnosed with cancer, it is unsurprising that many sent their well-wishes to cheer him on.
After getting a colon infection on Tuesday (28 Apr), Mr Khan died in a hospital in Mumbai, India, the following day.
Left a mark on film industry
The unfortunate news left many fans around the world devastated.
Though so, we can still remember him by the many masterpieces he left behind as one of the first few Indian actors who made a breakthrough in Hollywood.
With his latest film “Angrezi Medium” on the big screens right before India’s Covid-19 lockdown, we know that he left behind a legacy that won’t be forgotten.
