Singapore Crosses 18,000 Covid-19 Cases On 3 May

On Sunday (3 May), the Ministry of Health confirmed 657 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore.

“A vast majority” of cases are work permit holders staying in worker dormitories here.

This brings the total number of reported cases to 18205.

Of the new cases, 10 are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents (PRs).

MOH also announced that an 86-year-old Singaporean woman – also known as Case 14744 – has perished due to Covid-19, taking the death toll here to 18.

86-year-old had diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol

Case 14744 was confirmed to have Covid-19 on Monday (27 Apr).

On that day, 14 people linked to elderly home Acacia Home tested positive for Covid-19.

Unfortunately, the occupants of elderly homes are particularly at risk during this outbreak due to their advanced ages and potential for health complications.

The 86-year-old woman was diabetic and had high blood pressure as well as high cholesterol.
