Marina One Eatery Trains Youths With Special Needs For F&B Industry
Youths with special needs may not be accorded the same opportunities in the workforce as their peers.
In a bid to address this issue, an eatery in Marina One employs these youths and train them with the necessary skills to succeed in the F&B industry.
Youth who work at the eatery are trained in areas such as servings, greetings, and order taking. A netizen who chanced and patronised the eatery urged other Singaporeans to support the cause during the pandemic.

Sharing on the Hawkers United – Dabao 2020 Facebook group, Ms Tina Lee called for Singaporeans who visit the vicinity of Marina One to support the eatery.
While wandering at the 2nd basement level of Marina One, Ms Lee chanced upon Food for a Social Cause in a quiet corner of the building.
Deciding to patronise the eatery, she sat down and noticed that the staff in the restaurant were youths with special needs.
While observing them, Ms Lee noted that the youths were trained for a variety of skills — she apparently saw the youths practising greetings, serving, order taking, as well as their mannerisms.
Ms Lee said she was touched simply by watching them work earnestly on their assigned task.
Seeing as the noble cause behind the eatery, she hopes Food for a Social Cause can pull through in spite of the tough pandemic conditions.
