After monitoring the phone’s whereabouts, the 40-year-old found that the person currently possessing the iPhone had taken it “for a trip”.

He listed three places that the person had apparently visited:

  • 21 Terrasse Lane
  • Punggol East Container Park
  • 232C Sumang Lane

In the Facebook post, Mr Phua shared his suspicion that the person holding onto the phone resides along Sumang Lane.

He has since lodged a police report.

He added that the phone’s International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number has been recorded. As such, he warned that anyone who attempts to sell the device would be “tracked down” by the police.

Phone holds great sentimental value

Speaking to MS News, Phua explained that the phone held “great sentimental value” as it contained many photographs of his family.

“Family photos containing our two young sons and us are in the phone,” he said. “There are probably thousands of photos and videos from the last two years.”

He added that his wife’s iPhone has a clear case with a cat-themed PopSocket attached.

Phua sincerely hopes for the return of the device, stating that he will ask “no questions” if anyone returns it.

Additionally, he is also offering a S$5,000 reward to the person who provides a tip-off that leads to the return of his wife’s iPhone.

The phone is still missing at the time of writing.
