According to the user, the car remained at the pump even after refuelling, while the driver and passengers leisurely walked into the convenience store to buy food.

Upon returning, the group stood outside the shop, enjoying their meals and completely ignoring the queue of vehicles waiting to refuel behind them.

“Can we not embarrass Singaporeans?” she wrote. “Holding up a space at the petrol station? It’s truly a sight to behold.”

She also clarified that she could not determine if the driver was a Singaporean citizen or a Singapore permanent resident.

Numerous parking spaces available, yet car left at petrol pump

The Xiaohongshu user pointed out that there were plenty of empty parking spaces in front of the shop where the group could have parked their car.

Instead, they chose to remain at the petrol pump, preventing other drivers from refuelling.

According to Sin Chew Daily, a petrol station employee finally directed the user to another pump after about 10 to 15 minutes.

Even after she filled her tank and left, she still saw the group standing at the store entrance, chatting and eating as if they had all the time in the world.

She expressed her frustrations to the station assistant. However, he informed her that he could not take any action as he was not allowed to ask customers to move.

In response, many netizens stated that the user and the other waiting drivers were also customers and should not have to endure the inconveniences caused by the group’s inconsiderate behaviour.
