Fans of the popular Thai band Cocktail are discouraging concertgoers from proposing at the band’s final concert.
A meme forbidding marriage proposals has gone viral on social media, with many weighing in on why a public proposal would draw attention away from the band’s final public performance.
Proposals would apparently steal the show
Asking for someone’s hand in marriage draws the attention of everyone around. That’s why people are often discouraged from proposing at someone else’s wedding, no matter how romantic the occasion is.
One Cocktail fan wanted to make sure no one took the spotlight away from the band’s final performance and made a meme forbidding marriage proposals.
The fan had simply pasted three “do not propose” symbols over the band’s concert poster.
Despite its simplicity, the meme has gone viral, drawing close to three million views on X. It has also gotten people to weigh in on whether it’s appropriate to propose at a concert.
Most netizens agree a proposal would be in poor taste
“It’s their final concert. Please don’t steal the show. Let’s make everything all about Cocktail,” one comment said.
“I’m sure someone is thinking about it. Don’t take away their spotlight,” said another.
Some also resorted to sarcasm to get their message across.
Earlier this year, a man’s proposal at a Cocktail concert went viral during one of the band’s most popular hits ‘คู่ชีวิต’, which translates to life partner or spouse.

While the response was quite positive on the TikTok post, public sentiment went through a complete reversal for Cocktail’s final concert.
And with concert tickets going for as high as S$155 according to the poster, many would rather be able to focus on the band.
