Boy rescues 3 cats from flooded area in Malaysia, carries them through floodwaters to safety
Kindness knows no age, as demonstrated by a young boy who was filmed rescuing three stranded cats during a flood in Malaysia.
On Saturday (30 Nov), a 22-second video of the boy carrying the cats through floodwaters to safety was shared on Facebook, garnering numerous views and praise.
The clip shows the boy navigating a strong current with water reaching his knees, holding the cats securely in his arms.
Once he reaches a dry, safe spot, he gently places the felines down.
They appear unharmed and lively, immediately hopping around.
A woman and two other children, believed to be the boy’s family members, can be seen on the shore, watching closely to ensure his safety amidst the powerful floodwaters.
The post did not mention when or where the incident occurred.
Netizens urge other people to follow his example
Many netizens praised the boy for his compassionate act of rescuing the kittens while evacuating the flood zone.
One user noted that the boy set an example for adults who often lack compassion for animals during disasters.
Another woman expressed gratitude for his kindness and hoped he would one day become a veterinarian.
Another user admired the boy’s big heart, despite his young age.
The recent floods in Malaysia, caused by relentless monsoon rains, have led to severe disruptions, especially in the northeastern state of Kelantan.
As of late November, more than 122,000 people have been displaced, with the country facing what experts warn could be its worst flooding in a decade.
