Mr Wong, 51, assured Singaporeans that he was “feeling fine overall”.

As he recovers, he will self-isolate while working from home, he said.

He advised Singaporeans to stay updated on their flu shots and vaccinations as they travel during the holiday season and take the necessary precautions — such as wearing a mask — if feeling unwell.

This is to protect yourself and those around you, he added.

He had a stretch of overseas work trips

Mr Wong had recently returned from a “stretch of overseas work trips”, he said.

On 28 Nov, he visited Thailand at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, where he had an audience with the Thai King and Queen and was hosted to an official lunch by Ms Paetongtarn.

Before that, he was in South America from 14 to 20 Nov for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders’ Meeting and G20 Summit.

From 5 to 6 Nov, the PM visited Indonesia to pay an introductory visit to new Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
