5m python found chilling in cat room with 10 Scottish Fold cats,
In a space meant for cuddly cats, a scaly intruder made itself at home. On Tuesday (5 Aug), a 5-metre python was found coiled atop a cabinet in a cat room dedicated to housing 10 prized Scottish Fold cats.
According to Bangkok Post, the shocking encounter occurred at a two-story home in Bang Yai District, Nonthaburi, which was undergoing renovation at the time.
Snake believed to have slithered in through ceiling
According to local media, domestic staff had entered the cat room early in the morning when they were met by the massive python resting calmly on the cabinet.

The room was specially set up for the family’s beloved pets — two male cats, five females, and three tiny kittens.
Thankfully, all the cats managed to escape unharmed before the snake could strike.
The homeowner then immediately called emergency services.
Snake catchers use pole to remove python from room
Two officers from the 191 Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Centre arrived at the scene at around 9am.
The team used a special snake-catching pole with a loop to secure the python’s head before safely removing it from the room.

The officers believed the snake entered the home through a ceiling gap at the back of the room, possibly from an adjacent plot of overgrown, vacant land.
Once secured, the python was bagged and later released into a natural area far from residential zones
All 10 Scottish Fold cats are safe
While the situation could have ended in disaster, all 10 Scottish Fold cats survived the ordeal unscathed.
The Scottish Fold is a cat breed recognised for its distinctive forward-folding ears, a result of a cartilage mutation.
