Five-year-old daughter becomes only survivor after couple’s pickup truck crashes due to wet road
A couple in Thailand died after their pickup truck lost control on a rain-soaked road and crashed into a tree, leaving their five-year-old daughter as the sole survivor.
According to the Bangkok Post, the accident occurred on Thursday (30 Apr) afternoon along Mittraphap Road in Nakhon Ratchasima province.
Pickup loses control on wet road
Authorities were alerted to the crash just before 5pm and arrived to find a white pickup truck severely damaged after colliding with a roadside tree.
Heavy rain was still ongoing at the time, and rescue workers had to use power tools to free the occupants trapped inside the vehicle, according to Matichon.

The victims were identified as a 36-year-old father, a 32-year-old mother, and their young daughter.
Daughter shaken up by accident
The father was given CPR at the scene before being rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The mother was pronounced dead at the scene.
The couple’s five-year-old daughter was pulled from the wreckage with only minor injuries.
However, she was reportedly in shock and repeatedly asked rescuers if her parents had died and whether she would die too.

Rescue workers comforted the child at the scene.
Authorities have since reminded motorists to exercise extra caution when driving in rainy conditions, as wet roads can significantly increase the risk of accidents.
