A lone duck was recently spotted wandering around an HDB estate in Singapore, prompting a TikTok user to jokingly ask if he should “battle, catch or run”.
Wild duck spotted in HDB estate
The Original Poster (OP) @blueroundball shared a video of the unexpected visitor on Tuesday (11 Aug).
In the 11-second clip, a brown duck could be seen walking around a grass patch by the roadside next to some HDB flats.
The duck appeared unfazed as it strolled across the grass, occasionally stopping and looking around.

The OP was seemingly amused by the unusual sight and zoomed in on the duck to get a closer look.
In the background, a passerby and vehicles could also be seen going past as they went about their daily lives.
To make the video even more engaging, the OP also chose the background music track “Battle! Wild Pokémon.”
Netizens also amused by unexpected sighting
The unusual sighting amused netizens aplenty, with some likening the encounter to coming across a rare Pokémon in the wild.
A netizen jokingly told the OP to use a “master ball” to “catch” the wild duck, to which the OP replied that a “great or ultra ball” should suffice.

First time seeing a wild duck in the neighbourhood
The OP, Alex, 38, told MS News that he saw the duck beside Block 537, Bedok North Street 3, at around 11.30am on 8 Aug.
“I was caught by surprise, as it was my first time seeing a wild duck roaming around a neighbourhood, rather than in its usual setting, such as a farm or zoo,” said the software engineer.
When asked what other wild animals he has come across in Singapore’s HDB estates, he said: “Chicken.”
