Driver damages the electronic gantry barrier arm at Tee Side Chalet to avoid paying fees
CCTV captured footage of a driver damaging the barrier of an electronic gantry at Tee Side Chalet in Pasir Ris at around 1am on 14 Sep.
The driver did so by driving forcibly against it to pass the gantry.
Driver forces way past barrier
In a video posted on Singapore Incidents on Facebook (15 Sep), a grey car drives up to the electronic gantry at the Tee Side Chalet.

The driver waits a few seconds, then inches forward.

The driver then drives forward to forcibly push against the barrier, causing it to rise.

As the driver squeezes the car through, the barrier becomes stuck at an angle, indicating damage.
The driver continues into the street and turns left to leave the area.

Some slam driver, others say gantry is slow
Most netizens urged the chalet to report the matter.
However, a few netizens commented that the gantry is slow. One netizen even said that the gantries are “not responsive”.

Most, however, question whether the driver will be punished for his actions.

Chalet owners lodged a police report
In response to queries from MS News, Tee Side Chalet said that it was unable to locate or contact the driver, nor did the driver contact them regarding the incident.
Therefore, Tee Side Chalet said they lodged a police report and shall “leave it in the good hands of the SPF”.
