Dog meat allegedly offered for sale using multiple cloned Facebook accounts
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is investigating after Facebook posts surfaced allegedly offering dog meat for sale in Singapore.
Screenshots of the posts, which included several photos of the alleged items, were shared in a now-deleted post in the Dogs Singapore Facebook group earlier this week.

Dog meat allegedly offered for sale in Vietnamese Facebook group
The original posts were purportedly made in a Facebook group with more than 118,000 members named Chợ Việt Tại Singapore, which translates to “Vietnamese marketplace in Singapore”.

They appeared to have advertised various cuts of meat for sale.

All the posts also had the words “vitamin Gâu Gâu”, which is understood to be a Vietnamese euphemism for dog meat.

Dog meat allegedly smuggled into S’pore & sold on Facebook: OP
The anonymous original poster (OP) who shared the screenshots in Dogs Singapore claimed that the dog meat had been smuggled into Singapore and delivered to local agents who sold it on Facebook.
They allegedly used multiple cloned Facebook accounts for transactions.
The OP also shared bank and PayNow account numbers that were allegedly used for the transactions.
They claimed to have gathered evidence and will be submitting a report to the SFA and Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), and urged the dog lovers community to stay vigilant and report the accounts to help the authorities track them down.
SFA has not approved dog meat in S’pore
In response to queries from The Straits Times (ST), SFA said it had not approved any source of dog meat.
All food imports must meet SFA requirements, it noted, adding that it is investigating the claims.
It also urged food importers and retailers to ensure that food products brought into Singapore for sale comply with SFA’s import requirements and are safe for consumption.
