Car driver assisting police investigations after crashing into tree in Punggol
An elderly driver and his passenger were both sent to the hospital on Thursday (1 Oct) afternoon after their car crashed into a tree in Punggol.
A photo of the aftermath posted in a Telegram chat group for motorists showed that the red car had slammed head-first into a tree outside the Flo Residence condominium.
This caused severe damage to the car, whose hood was crumpled up. A tree branch had also fallen on it.

Car ends up on Punggol grass verge
Other photos posted by SG Road Vigilante on Facebook revealed that the Kia Niro had ended up on a grass verge between the pavement and the road.
Debris from the vehicle was strewn across the grass.

Driver & passenger conveyed to SKGH
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 4.50pm on 1 Oct.
It took place along Punggol East, towards the junction of Sengkang East Drive and Punggol Field, and involved a car which was believed to have self-skidded.
Two people — a 71-year-old male car driver and his 33-year-old female passenger — were sent to the hospital in a conscious state.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which was alerted at the same time, told MS News that they were conveyed to Sengkang General Hospital (SKGH).
Additionally, the elderly driver is also assisting with police investigations, which are ongoing.
