A 73-year-old man died on Monday (5 Oct) while another man was injured after an alleged stabbing incident at Telok Blangah Heights, while a third man was arrested.

Footage posted on TikTok showed a coffeeshop in disarray and cordoned off by the police after the incident.

Apparent bloodstains seen at Telok Blangah Heights coffeeshop

The TikToker who posted the video claimed there was a stabbing incident at Telok Blangah Heights.

His clip depicted a large area of a coffeeshop cordoned off behind police tape, with tables and chairs haphazardly positioned within.

In the middle of the area were what appeared to be bloodstains and tissues on the floor.

Witness saw uncle screaming & running

A second clip uploaded by the original poster (OP) showed a police officer closing off a section of a void deck with police tape.

A police car was parked in the carpark next to the block.

The OP said he heard someone screaming at this location and saw that the screams were coming from an uncle who was running.

He later saw another man, who he believed had “followed the uncle in the direction of the coffee shop”.

1 man found motionless & another injured at Telok Blangah Heights

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it received calls for assistance at about 6pm on Monday.

They came from the vicinity of Block 61 Telok Blangah Heights.

Officers responded to the incident within 10 minutes and found a 73-year-old Chinese man lying motionless at the scene.

Another Chinese man, aged 53, was found injured but conscious at the ground floor of the block.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which was alerted at about 6.10pm, told MS News that both men were conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital.

However, the older man passed away in hospital.

32-year-old man surrenders to police, to be charged with murder

Later, a 32-year-old man called the police to surrender, SPF said.

He was subsequently arrested in the vicinity and will be charged with murder on Wednesday (7 Oct).

The offence, under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code 1871, carries the death penalty.

He is believed to have acted alone, with no evidence to suggest it was a religiously motivated attack or an act of terror, SPF added.

Police investigations are ongoing.
