In a statement on its website, DIANNA Project said Hirata died from myocarditis linked to an influenza infection.
Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle, which can reduce the heart’s ability to pump blood. In severe cases, the condition can weaken the heart and prevent the rest of the body from receiving enough blood.
The agency did not disclose further details about the circumstances leading up to Hirata’s death.
Just a few days earlier, on 20 Sept, Hirata had performed at a DIANNA Project regular concert in Nagoya, after which she shared a post thanking fans for their support.

Wake and funeral held privately for young idol trainee
According to DIANNA Project, Hirata’s wake and funeral were held privately with only close relatives present, in accordance with her family’s wishes.
Out of respect for the grieving family, the agency also asked the public to refrain from making individual enquiries, requesting interviews, or asking questions about her death on social media.
