Toddler wanders onto Marsiling Road junction; adult picks her up after 30 seconds
A toddler in a red dress wandered onto a road junction along Marsiling Road for about 30 seconds before an adult woman ran over to pick her up.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday (12 Oct) at around 11.31am, according to a video Singapore Road Vigilante (SGRV) shared on Facebook on Tuesday (13 Oct).

The footage shows the child walking onto the road while the pedestrian light is red.

A few vehicles drive past the girl, and the girl then begins crossing diagonally into the junction.
She remains on the road for about 30 seconds before an adult woman runs over and carries her away.
Two adults standing near a traffic light are also seen filming the incident.
SGRV’s post described the incident as a “toddler wandering onto road” and noted that a caregiver appeared later.

Netizens question bystanders for filming toddler on road
The video drew comments from netizens who questioned why some bystanders filmed the incident instead of helping the child.
A netizen said disapprovingly, “[Those two humans] standing at the traffic light just [watching] the drama go on.”

Another said a child wandering near a traffic junction should be brought to safety first, with questions about responsibility to be addressed later.
They added that it was disappointing to see pedestrians pass by without offering help, describing the attitude as “not my child, so I don’t care”.

Others said they understood why the onlookers were hesitant to help, as they did not want to be liable for any of the girl’s injuries. However, many netizens still argued that the onlookers who did nothing but filmed should have “at least [helped] to bring the child to a safer spot.”
