2-Year-Old Toddler Gets Flung Out Of Car In Accident, Shows Importance Of Baby Car Seats

Earlier this year, Malaysia enforced a slew of measures to improve road safety of the masses.

Apart from issuing a fine for those who did not put on a seat belt, the government also made child car seats mandatory starting this year.

This law was enforced for a good reason, as the following accident will show you — a 2-year-old boy was flung out of a car as seen in videos circulating on Facebook.

Myvi crashed into car boy was in

The accident happened on 11 Feb around 3pm, on the North-South Expressway near Senawang in Malaysia, reported Channel NewsAsia (CNA).

The suspect, who was driving a Perodua Myvi on the left lane, “drew up alongside a Honda Jazz on the right lane” before driving back to the left lane.

He then tried to switch lanes. However, he collided with another car, causing it to crash into the road divider before hitting the rear of the Myvi.

The errant driver has reportedly been arrested.

Another man, presumably the child’s father, rushed to him moments later.

He is currently receiving treatment at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban.

The boy was left with abrasions and injuries on his head and knees.

It is not known if he was placed in a child car seat before the accident occurred.

Buy a child car seat if you have children

Fortunately, the child was not gravely injured.

We know that putting on our seat belts when we’re in a car is important. However, seat belts are not suitable for young children.

Instead, they should be placed in an appropriate child car seat – this would be the best way to keep your child secured when you’re on the road.

Accidents such as the one depicted here can be prevented if we do our part and equip our kids with car seats.
