Casio’s Gundam 40th Anniversary G-Shock Collection
There’s no better theme for the heavy and mechanical G-Shock than Gundam — those colossal Japanese warmachines.
Casio has just announced the Gundam 40th Anniversary G-Shock Collection comprising 4 watches, each themed after a different Gundam.
4 Gundams to rule them all
1. RX-78-2 Gundam G-Shock (S$280)
What would an anniversary be without the main – and probably most recognisable – robot of the animated series? The signature colours will be instantly recognisable to all Gundam fans out there.
2. MS-06S Char’s Zaku II G-Shock (S$220)
Because of its unrestrained thrusters and the hit-and-run tactics it employed, the MS-06S Zaku II was nicknamed “Red Comet”. This eye-catching red will announce your allegiance immediately and clearly.
3. RX-0 Unicorn Gundam G-Shock (S$220)
This G-Shock with a prisitine white coat and streaks of red is a show of elegance — and also that you know your Gundams well.
4. RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee G-Shock (S$342)
If you’re going for the look of mystery and malice, this black and gold RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee G-Shock will best suit your needs.
Watches come in a “Haro” kit
For the RX-78-2 Gundam, RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee, the watches will come nestled in a plastic “Haro” — the adorable green mascot of the Gundam series.
MS-06S Char’s Zaku II is treated more specially. It will come in a more menacing “Zaku Red Haro”.
Available on Taobao from mid-2019
The robot-themed watches will be available on Taobao from mid-2019. The exact date, unfortunately, was not told.
So best keep your eyes peeled for the launch. You never know how quickly collections like these get sold out.
