752 New Cases Of Covid-19 Reported On 14 May, Record 1,164 Patients Discharged

As of 12pm on Thursday (14 May), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 752 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore.

This brings that total number of confirmed cases to 26,098.

2 community cases involving Singaporeans/Permanent Residents were reported, while migrant workers living in dormitories made up the remaining 750 cases.

99% of the new clusters are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

MOH has also announced 1 new cluster at 2 Perumal Road.

Record number of patients discharged

A whopping 1,164 patients were discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

This is the first time over 1,000 patients have been discharged in a day, and brings the total number of recoveries to 5,973.

However, 1,072 confirmed cases still remain in the hospital, with 20 in critical condition. 19,032 patients are still in isolation, and Singapore’s death toll stands at 21.

Less than 5 community cases reported for 5th straight day

This makes the 5th straight day less than 5 community cases were reported.

Hopefully, this is a good sign that ‘Circuit Breaker’ measures are effective, and no extension will be required after 1 Jun.
