Mitsubishi driver allegedly self-skidded at Mandai Lake Road, mounts the kerb and crashes into a wall

On Saturday (5 Sept), a Mitsubishi driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall at Mandai Lake Road.

The incident occurred around 6.41pm and a dashcam from a nearby car captured footage of the incident.

Mitsubishi drives at high speeds near camcar

In a video posted by SG Road Vigilante on Facebook, a white Mitsubishi Outlander speeds down Mandai Lake Road.

A dashcam mounted on the back of a nearby vehicle captured footage of the SUV coming dangerously close to the vehicle.

The Mitsubishi driver swerves to the left of the camcar, almost causing a collision.

Mounts kerb and smashes into wall

Captured on the front-facing dashcam, the Mitsubishi driver swerves in front of and lightly clips the camcar while squeezing past it.

As the car swerves in, a huge amount of smoke comes out of the exhaust.

A few seconds later, the Mitsubishi driver crashes into a kerb before slamming straight into the wall along Mandai Lake Road.

The impact sends the car bouncing backwards before it comes to a stop.

Driver, 53, and passenger, 52, conveyed conscious to hospital

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force said that they were alerted to the accident involving a car at around 6.45pm.

According to the police, the car was believed to have self-skidded along Mandai Lake Road.

Similarly, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was also alerted to the accident.

Paramedics conveyed a 53-year-old male car driver and his 52-year-old female passenger, both conscious, to Khoo Teck Phuat Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing, with the driver assisting officers with their investigations.
