Balestier Durian Stall Sells MSW Durians At Pay-What-You-Want Prices To Help The Elderly On 14 Dec

Durian Kaki Offers 500Kg Of Mao Shan Wang Durians To Raise Funds For Elderly Nursing Home

The festive season that’s just around the corner isn’t just a time for gatherings with your loved ones. It is also a time to help others in society who are less fortunate.

On Wednesday (11 Dec), Durian Kaki – a durian stall in Singapore – announced a fundraising event for Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home.

Instead of paying prices upwards of $20 per kg for Mao Shan Wang (MSW) durians, customers can pay whatever amount they like. All proceeds from the event will, in turn, go towards funding the nursing home.

Around 400-500kg of MSW durians will be available at the event, held on Saturday (14 Dec).

Fans of durian should take the opportunity to purchase their favourite fruits for a good cause.

Durian Kaki fundraiser will be held at Balestier

Durian Kaki will be providing 400-500kg of MSW durians for the fundraising event held at Balestier Road.

All proceeds will go to caring for elders at Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home.

Each customer may purchase a maximum of two durians so more people can participate in the event.

Interested participants should be punctual because durians will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Do note that only cash payments will be collected, so remember to pay a visit to the ATM before dropping by.

Help the family-run nursing home

Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home is a family-run nursing home founded in the 1960s by the late Madam Lee Ah Mooi.

They cater to elderly folks who cannot afford private homes and are not eligible for government-funded homes.

The house looks after the vulnerable elderly by providing affordable and personalised services.

However, they rely on sponsors, volunteers, and the public to help fund their operations.

The home currently looks after 133 and 111 aged residents at their Outram and Thomson branch respectively.

You may visit their website or Facebook page to learn more about them.

Raising funds for the elderly

Durian Kaki’s fundraising event will happen this Saturday (14 December) at their Balestier Branch.

The venue is a 14-minute walk from the Novena MRT Station.

Address: 456 Balestier Road @ Ascent, #01-02, Singapore 329832
Date: 14 Dec
Time: 6pm onwards

Some of us may be on a tight budget, but we hope you consider attending this fundraising event. After all, charitable nursing homes which care for elderly patients require funds and resources for their daily operations.

If you and your friends would like to feast on some durian but for a good cause, this is one event that you should not miss out on.
