NDP Fireworks Start At 8.20PM From 10 Venues Islandwide
The National Day Parade (NDP) show will proceed at a smaller venue, but the fireworks display promises to reach every corner of Singapore, the NDP committee confirmed on Thursday (6 Aug).
The display will last for about 5 minutes, at 10 locations around Singapore:
- Ang Mo Kio
- Bishan
- Buona Vista
- Jurong Lake Gardens
- Marina Reservoir
- Punggol
- Sembawang
- Tampines
- Woodlands
- Yew Tee
Singaporeans will be able to watch the NDP fireworks show at 8.20pm across the island.
Tampines & Punggol among 10 NDP fireworks venues
Besides larger locations like Jurong Lake Gardens and Marina Reservoir, theses are the 8 other heartland areas where residents may enjoy a live view:
- Ang Mo Kio
- Bishan
- Buona Vista
- Punggol
- Sembawang
- Tampines
- Woodlands
- Yew Tee
These location sites were chosen such that they won’t cause any harm to residents or personnel, according to The Straits Times.
Fireworks will reach 62-storey height
Viewers won’t be able to get too close to large venues like Jurong Lake Gardens and Marina Reservoir for their safety, as they’re cordoned off.
But fireworks will be launched to reach a height of 62 stories, so citizens may view them at home. This arrangement will hopefully dissuade people from heading to the town area and creating crowds.
Safe-distancing & mask-wearing still required
If you are planning to head down to the 8 heartland venues, however, rest assured that they won’t be closed off.
Onsite personnel and the presence of safety markings on the ground will help ensure citizens don’t stray too near to the fireworks.
Do ensure that you’re wearing a mask and are safely distanced from others at all times, when venturing outdoors.
Uphold the NDP spirit safely
The trying circumstances surrounding this NDP looks unlikely to dampen moods, as the NDP committee works to ensure that people can still enjoy the show while following safe-distancing guidelines.
And now, with the fireworks brought to the heartlands, most families won’t have to leave their homes.
