Netflix unveils new titles coming in September, including ‘Stranger Things’ & ‘Lego One Piece’
September is shaping up to be a busy month for Netflix, with 23 titles featured in the streaming titan’s latest slate of new releases.
From returning favourites such as ‘Stranger Things’ to new additions like ‘Crew Girl’ and ‘Plastic Beauty’, there’s a little something for every kind of viewer, whether you’re after drama, comedy, or an easy family watch.
Here are some of the shows, films, and specials landing soon that you may want to add to your watchlist.
Brand-new series to keep an eye out for
Those in the mood to start something new have a few options this month.
First up is ‘Earle Meets World’, premiering on 4 Sept and starring American social media personality Alix Earle.
The unscripted series takes viewers behind the scenes of Earle’s life and family, offering a more unfiltered look at the personality behind the social media posts.

If teen drama is more your thing, ‘Crew Girl’ arrives on 10 Sept.
The series follows teenage rower Teagan Tao, who moves to a small town after a family scandal and joins an elite prep school’s all-boys crew, where rivalry and attraction soon enter the picture.

Fans of the beloved ’90s sitcom ‘A Different World’ can also return to Hillman College on 24 Sept, this time with a new generation of students finding their way on campus.
The story centres on Deborah Wayne, the youngest daughter of Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, who enters her freshman year at Hillman College hoping to build a legacy beyond her parents’ shadow.

Things get a little darker on 17 Sept with ‘Plastic Beauty’, which follows a gifted emergency room surgeon thrown into the world of cosmetic medicine.
Her clash with a celebrity doctor soon exposes the greed and desire beneath the industry’s polished surface.

On the lighter end of the spectrum is animated sitcom ‘Dang!’, premiering on 8 Sept.
After their sister Ruthie blows up her seemingly perfect life, siblings Andrew and Eunice show her that being a little flawed might not be such a bad thing, while she helps them navigate adulthood in return.

Familiar favourites return for another round
September also brings a few familiar faces back to the screen.
The animated spin-off of Netflix’s hit live-action series, ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’, returns for Season 2 on 17 Sept, bringing viewers back to Hawkins for another round of supernatural trouble.
With Valentine’s Day approaching, the gang must uncover the truth behind ghostly apparitions and a swarm of strange creatures causing chaos around town.

One Piece fans are also getting something a little different with ‘Lego One Piece’.
In the two-part special, Usopp spins a tall tale about the Straw Hats’ journey across the East Blue and into the Grand Line before Chopper joins the crew.

For something less supernatural but no less messy, ‘The Gentlemen’ Season 2 returns on 3 Sept.
Eddie is looking to grow his thriving empire, with or without Bobby’s blessing, while Susie starts exploring a new way to diversify the business.

New films and specials joining Netflix
There are also a handful of films and specials joining the line-up this month.
Tyler Perry’s comedy-drama ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’ arrives on 9 Sept.
The franchise’s third instalment reunites the familiar group for the destination wedding of Marcus and Angela’s daughter in Italy, where old and new drama inevitably follows.

Meanwhile, ‘Best of the Best’, out on 18 Sept, follows two childhood best friends who join UCLA’s competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team.
What starts as a shot at the US championships quickly turns into a much tougher road than either of them expected.

Stand-up comedian Jo Koy is also back on 15 Sept with ‘Jo Koy: Blue in the Face’, where he revisits everything from a wild dental disaster and getting fired from McDonald’s to stories about his veteran stepfather.

Younger viewers have a couple of new options, too.
‘Gabby’s Dollhouse’ Season 14 arrives on 14 Sept, with Gabby and the Gabby Cats joined by her dog-loving sister Doozie and a group of puppy pals.

A day later, ‘Na Willa’ premieres on 15 Sept, following its fun-loving young lead as school introduces her to new friends, tough teachers, and a few unexpected challenges.
