Parents in Thailand discovered they forgot daughter at petrol station after driving 130km away
A pair of parents in Thailand had a massive scare after they found out they had forgotten their 6-year-old daughter at a petrol station while on their way home.
They only discovered their blunder after already driving 130km away. Fortunately, local police officers kept the young girl safe and tracked down her parents.
On Wednesday (15 April), Khao Din Police Station shared the incident on its Facebook page, stating that they are “happy to be of service”.

Police initially struggled to contact her parents
According to Khaosod, the incident occurred on 14 April. The young girl told police that her parents had taken her to the beach in Cha-am, Petchaburi province.
Her family left her behind at the petrol station after they stopped for a short restroom break.
It was not made clear how police were first alerted to the girl being left behind, but they took her into their care once they discovered the incident.
The young girl did not know her parents’ phone numbers, and the police initially had no way of contacting them.
It was only when the girl offered her full name that the police were able to track her parents through the civil registration system.
Family reunited
Police informed the parents of where their child was located.

They had reportedly driven 130 kilometres away from the petrol station.
Although a little shaken, the girl was eventually picked up by her parents.
