Driver Plays Azan Prayer For Muslim Passenger, Assures Her It’s Okay To Break Fast Within Car

Chinese Driver Allows Muslim Passenger To Break Fast In His Car, Switches To Azan-Playing Radio Channel

Since the holy month of Ramadan started on 24 Apr, Muslims in Singapore have been observing strict meal times everyday.

Observers thus have to keep a keen eye on the clock, to make sure they start or stop eating at specific times.

Unfortunately, one Muslim passenger found herself running slightly late, being in the backseat of a car with less than 10 minutes to go before breaking fast.

However, thanks to her considerate Chinese driver, she was presumably able to get home quicker to break her fast.

Kind driver made sure she was comfortable

In her submission post to All Singapore Stuff, Ms Nurul details that the driver noted there was less than 10 minutes to go before fast was broken for the day.

He then proactively asked her which radio channel plays the azan, and constantly checked in to make sure she could hear the broadcast well.

As it is human nature to feel bad when we impose on others, the kind driver took the liberty to assure Ms Nurul that it was okay for her to break fast in his car.

The driver even sped up to try to reach their destination faster, slowing down only when the azan started playing.

Everyone liked that

Ms Nurul expressed, “This is a Chinese man who has touched my heart in so many ways with his kindness.”

And it seems that netizens agree.

One netizen commended the driver for showing compassion towards his Muslim passenger.

Another also agreed that this is how citizens should treat as human beings, and not based on race or religion.

Setting a good example for all

Kudos to the driver for setting a good example for the rest of us to follow.

If we’re to be one united people, Singaporeans need to be considerate and harmonious with each other, regardless of race, language or religion.

Let’s keep this in mind the next time we come across any situation that requires such consideration.
