Motorcyclist road rages and whacks side mirror of lorry
On 24 Aug, the rider of a Malaysian-registered motorcycle was caught hitting the side mirror of a lorry in an act of road rage.
A dashcam mounted on another motorcyclist’s helmet captured the footage of the incident, which they later posted online.
Speeds through traffic junction
In a video posted on SG Road Vigilante on Facebook, the dashcam captures a red motorcycle travelling along Tuas road.
A rider and passenger are seated on the motorcycle, passing through a traffic junction at a high speed.

Meanwhile, a bus and lorry can be seen turning into the main lanes of the road after going through a merging lane.
As the lorry slowly merges into the right-most lane, the red motorcycle fails to slow down.
He then ends up very close to the back of the lorry.
As a result, the motorcyclist breaks its speed to make way for the larger vehicle.

Then, the rider drives up to the side of the lorry and whacks the vehicle’s side mirror in anger.

While it seems that the lorry sustained no significant damage, the rider’s actions could have affected the position of the mirror.
This could reduce the field of vision for the driver and increase blind spots, potentially resulting in accidents.
Netizen finds a list of outstanding fees against the rider
Later, the netizen who uploaded the footage sourced the list of selected fines the rider had received over the course of two years.

The motorcyclist has accumulated multiple outstanding tickets, including from the Housing Development Board (HDB) and Land Transport Authority (LTA).
Additionally, the most significant fine of S$2,950 was from the Singapore Police Force (SPF).
Although “road raging” is not a criminal offence in Singapore, it is possible for individuals in a road rage case to be charged with other criminal offenses, such as voluntarily causing hurt, grievous hurt or causing hurt by rash act.
