The suspected patient was promptly brought to an isolation room before transported to an ambulance pick-up point via a designated route.

The route was specially designed to minimise the suspected patient’s exposure to the other shoppers. Staff who facilitated with the movement were also wearing protective equipment.

After he was transported to the pick-point, the common areas of the route have been cordoned off for “disinfection and sanitisation”.

City Square Mall monitoring situation closely

The mall management emphasised that they took precautionary measures since the first coronavirus case was confirmed in Singapore. They will “[step] up sanitisation of public surfaces such as lift buttons and escalator handrails”.

City Square Mall is currently monitoring the situation closely.

At the same time, they are appealing to all shoppers and tenants to remain alert and to practise good personal hygiene habits.

Glad shopping malls in Singapore are taking extra precautions

We’re glad that shopping malls in Singapore are taking extra precautions to keep shopping centres clean during these times.

Meanwhile, let’s all do our part to curb the spread of the virus by maintaining good hygiene. In particular, washing our hands regularly and not touching our faces unnecessarily.
