Covid-19 Patient Is Company Director With Close Links To Famous Celebrities, Infected Family Members & Pet Dog
Recently, South Korean celebrities who attended Milan Fashion Week were quarantined after a staff was confirmed with Covid-19.
Now, Hong Kong stars are having a similar scare.
Wealthy company director Yvonne Chow, who is affiliated with multiple celebrities in the city, tested positive for the virus on 25 Feb. Since then, her family members, helper and even her dog have been infected, reported NDTV.
Huge network of celebrity friends
The woman reportedly lives near actress Chingmy Yau and goes to the same jockey club as Aaron Kwok. She also visited locations frequented by other public figures.
This has caused concern among fans, considering her network of friends includes many celebrities.
Went to more than 10 places across Hong Kong
Ms Chow, 60, started showing symptoms like cough and a fever of up to 37.9 deg C on 12 Feb. She saw a doctor 4 times.
Despite being unwell, she attended social events such as a wedding at the JW Marriott Hotel and also continued her leisure activities.
She also spent time at the Jockey Club that Aaron Kwok and his wife frequent.
Some of the more than 10 locations she visited are a hair salon at The Park Lane hotel and a seafood restaurant on Lamma Island.
Furthermore, Ms Chow lives in the Swiss Towers on Tai Heng Road, an affluent neighbourhood where celebrities like Chingmy Yau reside.
Ms Chow tested positive for Covid-19 only on 25 Feb, and is now isolated at Queen Mary Hospital, according to the Centre For Health Protection.
Her doctor also treats other celebrities
Besides her activities while sick, there is also concern over Ms Chow sharing a doctor with other local celebrities like Donnie Yen, Chow Yun Fat and Patrick Tze.
She had reportedly visited the clinic of well-known physician John Yeung several times before finally being diagnosed with Covid-19.
Owner of first Covid-19 dog case
On Wednesday (4 Mar), Hong Kong also confirmed a likely human-to-pet transmission of Covid-19.
The dog in question was owned by a 60-year-old woman who is a member of the Jockey Club. That woman was identified by the Taiwanese news site Newtalk as Ms Chow.
On Thursday (5 Mar), it was reported that Ms Chow’s helper, brother, and sister-in-law had also been infected.
Concern for those linked to Covid-19 patient
When one very socially active and well-connected woman comes down with Covid-19, the effects can be wide-reaching.
Many fans are already expressing their concern for the public figures linked to her.
While none of the celebrities linked to Ms Chow have tested positive for the virus yet, it’s unsurprising that fans are concerned that their favourite celebrities will be infected.
Wishing Ms Chow, her family, her helper and her dog a speedy recovery, and the best of health to everybody who had come into recent contact with her.
