Solidarity Budget Will Send $600 To Your Bank Account, Update Your Details By 23 Apr

Adult Singaporeans Will Receive $600 On 14 Apr From Solidarity Budget

Covid-19 has wreaked havoc upon everyone’s lives, but thankfully, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Heng Swee Keat announced the Solidarity Budget aimed at helping us all out.

As part of the budget, all adult Singaporeans will receive a $600 payment directly in their bank accounts.

This $600 payment consists of 2, $300 portions — the first being part of the Supplementary Budget he revealed on 26 Mar.

The Solidarity Budget moved the payment to April, and DPM Heng made an additional top-up of $300, hence, making the total $600.

Receive $600 on 14 Apr if you update bank details

While most of us will be at home during the ‘Circuit Breaker’, the prospect of some additional money will help us out a little.

However, you’ll need to update your bank account details on Gov.sg by 23 Apr to get it.

Those who have not done so – according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF), about 10% of Singaporeans fall under this – they can do so using this form.

Once you submit the form by 23 Apr, you can expect your money by 28 Apr.

Your SingPass account should indicate whether you’ve submitted your details, should you be unsure.

Remember to only enter your personal information once you’ve verified that it’s a government website. Be careful of scam emails or messages.

Stay strong, Singapore

There has never been 3 budgets in a single year, but Covid-19 has turned that notion into a reality.

Times are very tough right now, and we do encourage Singaporeans to not recklessly spend this $600 payout — it’s meant to help us tide through this crisis.

Things may get even tougher from here on out, so we should exercise prudence – as the government has done – and either pay for essentials or save the money for rainier days.
